It feels like a dream come true. Today I feel adored, cherished, accepted just like I am, respected, and supported by a kind, strong masculine energy man, who I can call my husband.
However, to be where I am today, I had to completely turn my own love life around.
Before this, I used to invest all my time and energy into one man after another – in what always turned out to be dead-end relationships.
I struggled, I really struggled.
Attracted to, and attracting men who were unable to take the relationship forward, created in me debilitating feelings of self-doubt, low self-confidence, and a sense of “I’m just not good enough”… I felt heartbroken, confused, and worst of all, hopeless.
I have checked off nearly every box in the relationship category – engaged, married, divorced, it’s complicated, single and not looking, single and looking, dating, single mother… and if there are more categories, I’m sure I’d fit in them too!
If I could bottle all the energy, I have put into thinking about him, getting him to like me, navigating a relationship with him, breaking up with him, getting over him and looking for him all over again and again . . . I could fuel rocket ships.
Without realizing it, I WAS THE ONE WHO WAS AFRAID OF INTIMACY and COMMITMENT … and for as much as I wanted and longed for true love in my life, I WAS PUSHING GOOD MEN AND LOVE AWAY !
The fact is that we don’t know what we don’t know, and I didn’t know what I was doing wrong…Until eventually, I FIGURED IT OUT !
